To calculate the required amount, measure the area of the walls or ceilings you plan to cover with the plasterboard. Multiply the length by the height to get the square footage. Take into account any openings like doors and windows. Then, check the size of the plasterboard sheets you intend to use and divide the total square footage by the coverage area of one sheet to find out how much plasterboard to buy.

To easily cut plasterboard, follow these 4 simple steps:  

  1. Using your measurements, use a pencil to make the markings on the plasterboard where you will cut.   
  2. Use a spirit level to make sure the plasterboard is level.  
  3. Using a sharp knife, make a small incision in the plasterboard according to your measurements.  
  4. Line up your saw with the incision and cut all the way through the plasterboard.
